What does "Do Not Sell My Info" mean?

The law broadly defines "sell" to include many different types of data sharing with third parties. While TreeStorX may share your personal information with select third parties, we are not in the business of compiling and selling our diners' personal information to third parties (e.g. data brokers or other data resellers).

Does TreeStorX actually "sell" my personal information?

As explained above, we do not "sell" your information in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, we share your personal information to connect you with restaurant partners where you have previously placed orders, or (if you are using TreeStorX's campus dining), with a campus food service provider so that they can communicate directly with you and share exclusive offers with you. If you opt out of personal information sales, TreeStorX will stop disclosing your personal information to our restaurant partners and/or campus food service providers, and you will miss out on deals and offers they might otherwise communicate to you.

Additionally, as is common practice among companies that operate online, when you visit or interact with our websites, use our apps or otherwise engage with us, we permit third-party advertising networks, social media companies and other third-party businesses to collect and disclose your personal information directly from your browser or device through cookies or tracking technologies. These third parties use this information for the purposes of serving ads that are more relevant to you, for ad campaign measurement and analytics, and for fraud detection and reporting, and they may "sell" that information to other businesses for advertising and other purposes.
